EDITION 2022
NOVEMBER 9 - 13
In its eleventh edition, the Los Cabos International Film Festival returned to physical spaces through the unparalleled collective experience that cinema offers. This year, we presented an unmissable program that the audience could enjoy at Cinemex Puerto Paraíso, as well as in other outdoor spaces: Once Once and the Civic Plaza of La Playa Community. During the festival, the Sin Fronteras Award was presented to Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, and the Mujeres Fantásticas award was given to actress and producer Karla Souza. This edition also celebrated the return of our Industry activities to a fully in-person edition, through three main programs: the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund, the Meet-Mart, and a Panel Program: New Cinema Signals and Ephemeral Stories: Cinema Facing New Audiences. Additionally, this year, as a follow-up to the premieres of national films that have been part of the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund, a new section was added: Encuadres Mexicanos.

We awarded this distinction to actress and producer Karla Souza, who has emerged as a brave voice denouncing abuse against women within and outside the film industry; and whose work has placed her in some of the most important projects in the cinema and television industries in the United States.
SIN FRONTERAS AWARD TO TENOCH HUERTA

For his outstanding career and tireless work in favor of inclusion, diversity, and the visibility of Latin American talent in the global film industry, the Los Cabos International Film Festival honored Tenoch Huerta with the Sin Fronteras Award during its Opening Gala.
